Who are the faces behind Expeditions Northwest?

Expeditions Northwest is run by Andrew and Jacqueline, a local Seward couple. They have a dog named Kameli and Jacqueline has a cat named Titty. Andrew is the boat captain/guide and Jacqueline does the things that don’t require a captain’s license. Married in 2022, they met over a decade ago in Seward, Alaska while they were both working at a local restaurant.

Andrew has been a professional mariner for more than a decade and a half. During that time, he has captained or crewed more than 80 different boats and ships all around the world. He started his career right here in the Kenai Fjords back in 2007, working as a deckhand for a tour company in Seward Harbor. In 2014, he got his captain’s license and has subsequently worked as a captain on whale watching boats in Seward, Southeast Alaska, the Salish Sea in Washington State, and on Maui. Andrew is also a guide on polar expedition cruise ships in Antarctica, South Georgia, Arctic Canada, Svalbard, and Greenland. Andrew is an accomplished professional photographer and loves to help people get the best photos and videos possible.

Jacqueline was born and raised in Seward, and grew up harboring a passion for sharing the wonders of her home state with visitors. Jacqueline was raised in her family’s business, Le Barn Appetit Creperie. From a young age, Jacqueline would take visitors out to see the beautiful wilderness Seward is tucked into, giving peoples’ trips a local touch. Growing up and going to college in Alaska provided Jacqueline with a depth of knowlege about the biology and ecology of her home. Alaskans are known to be proud of their home state and Jacqueline is no exception, she loves offering advice on where to go and what to see!
